Vegas, Baby: DivX at International CES 2008

Are you planning to attend International CES in Las Vegas in January? DivX will be present on the show floor with an awesome booth. We’d like to take this as an opportunity to meet up with community members and share what we have been up to lately. Come by and check out some cool demos, learn how to get more out of our community tools, and hang out with other community members and meet some folks from the DivX crew in person.

We need you help to put this together. Leave a comment to let us know what days you are going to be at International CES. Also, let us know what you’d like to hear from us. A preliminary agenda will be posted based on your input.

See ya there!

The folks at DivX and D-Link

The folks at DivX and D-Link recently loaned me two pieces of hardware to help bridge the gap between the Internet and my TV set: a DivX Connected box and a pair of powerline adapters to turn my electrical wires into a branch of my home network. All the gear worked well and was surprisingly easy to set up (especially the powerline adapters, which were literally plug-and-play -- a first for any networking gear I've used). Yet as much as I enjoyed using the DivX device, it reminded me that closing the PC-TV gap isn't as simple as hooking up a smart set-top box. It's about finding a way to make computers and websites speak TV.

It was great

I was at the CES Show and Vegas, and the DivX booth was one of the best booths on the floor, good job to all who made it happen.

Just asked around here and we will not be at Mac World in 2008 ;( , at least not as DivX. I am sure some of us here will go as visitors, so if you are going maybe you can meet some people outside of any formal DivX representation.

MacWorld? I don't think so.

MacWorld? I don't think they are focusing on small niche markets at the moment. :-p

Niche or not niche, if I'm not mistaking, DivX software are currently available fro MacOS X. My question is still relevant.

Chill baby...

CES isn't a 'Windows' show - Mac fans are as welcome as anyone else. CES is a Consumer Electronics Show and is open to ALL consumers.

CES 2008?? What about MacWorld?

The title says it all, what about MacWorld?? Will you guys attend as well?
