DivX Codec 6.8 introduced two major improvements over older versions - multithreaded decoding and support for custom quantization matrices. In addition, DivX Codec 6.8.2 will contain fixes for several issues reported to us since the 6.8 release, including better support for dual monitors and for older DivX files.

We've got a few new high def goodies for you to play with in this version of DivX Codec. First and foremost is support for the DivX 1080HD profile!

The "1080HD Mode", featured in the encoder since DivX Codec 6.4, has been replaced with the official 1080 standard, assuring playback on DivX Certified 1080HD devices. The good news is that this standard forms a feature superset of the original 1080 mode so all of your existing DivX 1080 material should also look great on your new player! So, what's in the feature superset?

We here at DivX like to spend our time making things work faster, better, and with some serious style. With that in mind, we've just finished a whole bunch of work on the DivX decoder, including many performance quality enhancements that we think you're going to love.

Here at DivX we like our version numbers with 3 digits, so in order to fulfill our passion we furiously release version after version, just to be able to crank it up ;-)

So here it is: DivX codec 6.2.2!
It only contains minor (and major) bug fixes but it’s good to be up to date !

Since we launhced the DivX 6.2 codec last Monday it has come to our attention that a few of you have experienced some problems while using it. We've been working around the clock to fix all the issues reported to us, and we've put together a patch to address them. Behold the almighty 6.2.1 Patch 1 Beta!

DivX codec 6.2.0 Beta 1 previews just some of the new features that you can expect to see in the next major update to the codec. Included in this beta are options that improve performance and quality for both older machines and those equipped with newer processors.

It's been a little while (ok.. 3 years ;)) since we last released a version of the DivX codec for Linux. Following our 6.1 major release for Windows back in December we've been busy fixing all the issues that have been reported to us in order to make 6.1.1 very stable. Now that work on 6.1.1 is complete, we have decided not only to release the Windows version, but a Linux version too.
