Case sensitive files and insensitive removal
Added several files a while ago ("Carry on ..." movies), when I re-encoded at a higher quality I instead named them "Carry On ...". Now the server has both names listed, even though they only differ by the capitalisation of a single letter (ie, "O" instead of "o").
Basically this means that the server is adding files in a case sensitive manner, but not removing them when asked to Rescan (as it's doing a case-insensitive compare).
Suggested resolution - check if the filesystem itself is case sensitive and use that for checking file names.

Connected: More media support out of the box
Tue, 04/01/2008 - 14:11 — kamiwaI just received a new config file for the DirectShowPlugin from one of the Connected devels. It works with the latest server version and brings a whole bunch of additional media to your box.
Best of it is: It more or less works straight out of the box, only three downloads needed and the config file itself.
Look here for more details.

REMINDER: DirectShowPlugin ignores PAR
The DirectShow plugin ignores PAR by default!
The only way to display it correctly are a few tweaks in ffdshow's postprocessing options.
Too bad, if you need to use a different DirectShow decoder like CoreAVC for example!

Wed, 03/19/2008 - 11:27 — Lemur19Remove services
I would very much like to remove some of de introduced 'services' from the services list.
I can see this list of so called services grow with future releases,
and after reviewing the newly added services (i think they're crap (sorry!))
i would really like the ability to remove the services i don't like.

Wireless Connection Bug
Hi DivX Team,
pretty quite around here now...well I updated to the new Server 1.2 and the new Device Firmware on friday.
Now i have a problem connecting to the server.
I use a wireless setup and every time I start the Connected Box cant find the Server ("Connected Server cannot be found bla blah").
To connect I have to press --> Setup --> Network (Everything is 0.0.0.0 in there) --> Configure Wireless (Then I see my Network "Under Network Name") --> Click on my Network and then it connects (I don't have to input the Encryption key as it seems it is saved fine).
After I connected that way i can go to Server and then the connected box finds my server.
I'm using a router, WPA2 (WPA-PSK Encryption), and my Network Name (SSID) is hidden.
With the old Serversoft and Client Versions it worked fine (So I'm not sure if its a Server or Client bug).
Hope this was helpful.
Greets.
EDIT:
Fixed with latest client-firmware.

A Little windows update= DivX CB on shrooms?
I decided to update Windows the other day, no biggy, just some security fixes here and patches there.... OOOw, whats this, a driver patch for my Nvidia GeForce 6800GS? from Microsoft? Perhaps it will make some improvements to.... whatever, cant harm anything right? Wrong.
Everything seemed fine with my system, no glitches, no blue screen of death, in fact it seemed as though nothing had changed. Until my roommates came to me last night saying that the menu on the CB was all screwy, and they weren't on any shrooms so something was wrong. Turns out that that driver patch did do something wrong. See attached file!
Anyways to save people the time trying to uninstall the Windows hotfix related to the problem, I found that the only (and easiest) way to rectify the issue, was to uninstall the Nvidia drivers, restart, reinstall or install newer drivers! Fixed (reinstalling Connected doesn't work, and I uninstalled all the new hotfixes but the problem still remained, so the graphics driver uninstall/reinstall is the only way!)
Sound feed drops after movie finished
This is a one-time issue so far and haven't tried to replicate it yet.
I am running Windows XP SP2, the 1.1.0b12 and an optical connection from the box to a Sony receiver.
I finished watching a full length movie and it played through just fine. After that I went into a different folder and started watching a SDTV TV rip. There was no audio output on the file, nor anything else in the folder. I tried some other files that I knew were OK and the same thing happened. My Sony Surround Receiver showed no input detected.
I reset the receiver, didn't help, switched to different inputs and back and nothing. I power cycled the box and it still did not help. Finally I unplugged the DivX box for 20 seconds plugged it back in and it worked again.
If you need any more info please contact me!
Thanks
Nathan
