DivX Connected Beta Community

I ran into a few bugs:

1) When the "menu" button is pressed a "file is missing" screen appears.

2) Using the "back" button to cycle back to the main Connected menu sometimes results in the screen resolution being reduced to about a fourth (the entire display was reduced to the bottom left corner of my screen... switching to Stage6 then back corrected the problem)

3) This may not necessarily be a bug, but it's definitely a major feature request: music stops playing when entering Funspot. I would expect music files to continue playing throughout game play as with viewing photos.

First if there could be a start up sound that would be great. like for the divx screen. this would let visually impaired users know connected started.

Captions and audio descriptions are covered with subtitle files.

visual impaired accessibility:

sounds when navigating menus. This would help because a visually impaired user would know that they are changing from stay videos to audio or that they did press a button on the remote.

Text to speech of titles. This may be a pipe dream, but since divx connected is partially software driven I think it could be done. This would help visually impaired users. I don't know how expensive licensing a voice engine would be. But if connected was it would be the first and only media player box to support it.

Text to speech for server software. Same as above.

Sorry these ideas are so late, but work has been keeping me extra busy. I would love to be able to advertise to my peers an accessible hardware media player.

My mp3 scanning problems were fixed, but with .12 my movie files that scanned fine before caused divx Connected to crash. the mp3s were a big deal because it was a video streaming box for me first and foremost. This probably needs to be fixed before public release. I have all types of files in the folders: avi, mpg, mpeg, asf, mov, ogg

DivxConnected.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point DCManagerAddInheritProperty could not be located in the dynamic link library DCManager.dll.

I'm not sure which version because I downloaded .12 a couple days ago (10/4/07 6:42am) and when I restarted my computer today it asked me to update so I did. Now connected won't start. :-(

Hi guys,

running the latest firmware (RC) and the latest server soft (Build 20). It may be a temporary bug of Stage6 or something but the Video-Thumbnails disappear after browsing some channels.

Its kinda strange cause they work fine at first, but after 3-5 channel switches somehow these preview pics disappear and are replaced with the standard video icon. The Vids run fine though (Download and instant playing).

Restarting the box solves the problem for a while but then again --> No Thumbnails.

Maybe someone can confirm this "new" bug.

Since updating the firmware I input all my wireless network settings and it connected perfectly. However after standby / power cycle it will not connect automatically to the wireless network. The settings are all retained and going back into setup will allow me to manually connect without changing anything - it just will not do it automatically.

There were no problems before this latest firmware update.

What is SLEEK?

SLEEK is just a name I came up for my theme that I created for the DivX Connected Interface. It replaces all the icons, backgrounds, and many other small changes have been done to make the UI of DivX Connected look as great as possible.

Does it cost anything?

Of course not! It's FREE!

I was going to have Google Maps, but the plugin still doesn't work under RC1, even though they said it would, i didn't bother including it in the menu since it does not work as of now.

When i use the old DCMP found in http://labs.divx.com/files/DivX%20Connected%20Server%20Plug-in%20SDK.zip the DCMP either does not find the server at all, or sometimes when i think it finds it, DCMP.exe just crashes...What's up? Is this due to all the new firmware updates? When can we expect and updated working dcmp.exe? I would love it ASAP.

The "Direct Buttons" (Music, Photo, Video, Stage6, Online) dosen't work if im in the Settings Menu of the Device. I dosen't know if it was the same in the old version, but i find it quite annoying, to press the back or home button, on the remote.
