Ok.. As i read the Changelog, of the new Server Software with the WMV thing, i alredy told myself, that it wont work with VBR WMV Videos, so i tested it, and i had right! The Software cant transcode vbr videos to cbr videos, it's inpossible with the build-in wmv demuxxers. If you have a vbr wmv, you must do it through a capturing software like Camtasia, or it wont work.

The main Problem on the DivX Server ist, that it skips frames, that the WMP wont skip, so you have a playtime from 43-44sec instead of 45sec. If you don't believe me, here is the Link to Rapidshare where i hosted the wmv.

And belive me.. I know what is say.. I searched 2 weeks to find a solution to transcode the video to a XviD avi..

ah yeah.. and.. I'm very sorry for the Bad english.. But i really thing that this is a serious Problem, if you wont to build in wmv support. Because i know many Videos that are in the VBR WMV format , and all of them got the same problem, with a simple transcode.

The Video

When trying to play a movie that is accompanied by an srt subtitle file, some of the subtitles are missing completely. I assume that this is due to an issue with special characters in the german language (i.e. ä, ö, ü and ß). It appears that lines which contain one or more of these characters will not be displayed at all.

Ok i managed to track down what was crashing my connected server will all version so far...

.. i turns out it was a m3u playlist file, now and rather stupidly i insticivly pressed shift delete before i looked inside the file to see what was in there.

But it now scans without a problem.

:( ive tried to re-create the issue by creating a playlist file with invalid (files not there) names but it read that fine.

I can only think that the m3u file must have either not been an m3u or it was corrupt or possibly it had a rogue char in there that was either injecting something into connect it didnt like.

Either way the problem lies with it reading m3u files, im kicking myself hard for not making a duplicate of the file :(

After the server update I get a warning about video drivers not supporting OpenGL every time I boot. However I believe that I have the latest drivers installed, which should support OpenGL.

My video is supplied by the INTEL(R) 82845G integrated chip.
The driver version is 6.14.10.4342 (6/21/2005).

OpenGL options are configurable through the driver interface... are there any particular setting/options that need to be activated?

I see that in version 1.0.0 build 20 there is no resume function anymore......
Please return this much used functionality.

Upon uninstalling the previous beta build of the server software, and installing/configuring the 0.120 (current) build, the user is presented with a "Performance Test" progress bar.

At approximately 40% completed, the performance test hangs, and CPU usage spikes to 50% or higher.

This behavior occured regardless of how many times I rebooted my machine, and was not specific to a certain user account.

System configuration:

Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit)
Pentium D 930
2 GB DDR2 PC 4200 RAM
Radeon X550 Series
Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Music

I just upgraded to 0.12 - and it's no longer loading. It crashes with the message '

DivxConnected.exe - Entry point not found

The procedure entry point GetUserGeoID could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll

ok so i installed the new server software and was expecting it to tell me about the new new update, which never came so i went and turned on my box which comes on fine connects to the server fine however then i get nothing the screen just goes black.

I will describe in this post the updating process with the new Device Firmware and Server Software from the 4th October 2007 and my problems during the installation(s). I decided to write this to the bug area, because there are no forums for such an "report" :-D

Updating new Device firmware.
During the update process I recognized a display problem wirth the status bar (the percent line) and the headtitle.

I think that's because a wrong character set in the german language pack. Dont' know it exactly...

After the loading bar was complete, the TV turned black (Box was running, only the power lamp was on). When pressing the power button on my remote control - nothing was happened. After 5 minutes with no reactions I turned off the box. (must holding up to 5sec the power button on the device).

The box turned on normaly without problems. The setup-routine flimmered, after typing in the WEP-Phrase from my router and said, that it can't connect to my network. I tried it a few times - without success.
Now I restarted the device and recognized during the splash screen was shown, that the tv-image is flimmering again. But that stopped, when the box turned into the setup routine.

After the box searched for a Router it says
"Warnung Kann Netzwerkeinstellungen nicht übertragen (DHCP fehlgeschalgen)" (Translation: ATTENTION I can't transfer the Network settings - DHCP failed).
Then: "Keine IP-Adresse von DHCP-Server erhalten" (Translation: No IP-Adress received from DHCP-Server).

After the setup-summary, the box displayed an uncomplete error message:
"[...]Bitte stellen Sie sicher, dass der Rechner, auf dem DivX connected ausgeführt wird, sich im rich"

My telly is a Daewoo supporting 1080i, latest firmware update - before this didn't happen (but might have had something related to it).

When in 720p there is no problem. In 1080i the TV occasionally goes black and flashes up the resolution (as normally happens when syncing the signal). On the last firmware shows would occasionally "freeze-frame" for up to several seconds (about the same length of time). In both cases the audio plays normally.

The places where it happens are reproducible - if I rewind a few seconds it will do exactly the same thing at the same place again. It happens on all files, both divx and xvid. The divx ones are Home Theater certified (both from DrDivx and VDM).

There is no apparent cause in the video stream - it can happen in both high-bitrate and low-bitrate sections. It doesn't happen when playing on the computer, only when on the box.
