A small update for a big OS. This version of DivX Player for Mac will ensure compatibility with Leopard. Thanks to LordRPI we are able to release this update one week after the grand update for Mac lovers.

A lot comes with the transition from PowerPC to Intel and this can be harder for some apps than others. Due to the upgrades, psychological evaluations and various other”complexities” (PowerPCs are from Venus and Intels are from Mars), this process took a little too long for admirers and dissidents alike. For DivX, the time has finally come to unveil from under the shroud of an XCoder’s will, the new(ish) svelte Player for Mac: leaner, meaner, and a whole lot more on the inside. As well as being Universal Binary, DivX Player 2.0 is fully translated into French, German and Japanese and supports playback of DivX VOD movies. After many dark nights spent deep in our underground labs, turning dials and twiddling knobs on all sorts of 1930's era mad-scientist equipment, we've successfully sent a zillion-volt lightning bolt deep into the heart of our Macs and ignited the pulse of life into... The DivX Player for Macintosh!

Well, we Mac guys here at DivX are again poking are heads up from our dark development dungeon and braving the bright light of day just long enough to set free our Beta 2 of DivX 6 for Mac for Intel! “Fly! Be free! Find lots of happy homes on iMacs and MacBook Pros!” DivX 6 for Mac for Intel is a fully-featured version of DivX 6 for Mac, cross-compiled so it will work seamlessly on PowerPC as well as Intel Macintoshes. It is time-limited, but at the same time it has no trial/registration/purchase mumbo-jumbo to deal with.

If the first time was good, the second time should be better! Right? Well when it comes to the Beta 2 release of the DivX Player for Macintosh, that’s exactly what you get! An even better player than we playered before! Um, er, well, you get the point! With a slew of bug fixes, additions and refinements this new release is marching headlong towards being what we believe will be coolest movie player for the Mac! Ever! No kidding!
