DivX Player 6.8.1 Beta 1

We've got a brand spanking new build of DivX Player for you to er.. "play" with! [1] . This beta features a complete rewrite of much of the player's internals in order to add support for files larger than 4GB, rendering via Direct3D, QuickTime .mov and .mp4 support, and more.

Oops, some bugs snuck into Player 6.4, which supports MP3 surround sound. Most notably, some files played without audio or played as 2 channel instead of stereo. Also, some publishing problems were addressed and the issue of the DivX Player only showing up in the taskbar and off the screen has been fixed.

Labs fans, you heard it here first. Here's the final version of the DivX Player 6.3.1. We fixed some bugs with login problems and also tweaked the Stage6 publisher to allow more content to be added without re-encoding. But we didn't stop with just those things. Thanks to our friends at Fraunhofer and Thomson, we've added mp3 Surround support into the Player also! *Updated on September 6, 2006. Fixed audio/video sync.
