It's simply the best and not
It's simply the best and not hard to work on. Everything changed to the best with DivX. I can never stand low quality videos but that doesn't come for free; high quality videos take more drive space, however, DivX was the best alternative for high end quality with relatively small disk space. What I really admire in DivX is that it's very stable and has perfect quality.
Keep up the great work guys.
Why Divx
I use DivX as a way to display my work to potential customers and as a way for current customers to see project and to share it with those whom they choose.
I find DivX a great option for encoding and a great option for displaying online media (especially with the partnership of Stage6 and their hosting/streaming abilities). I am looking forward to what the future holds for the mainconcept encoder as well as I use it almost daily.
I think the last question you asked can be summed up by what I have penned above. It is a great encoder and partnered with Stage6, you have almost everything you need to make your online presence known. Great encoder and great service.
I would voice one suggestion though. There was a time when Stage6 was in Alpha and you could tag your videos as pay per view. That ability would be a welcomed return. It would also be great to have multiple password protected videos with the login information dependent on the client for whom it is intended. Anyways, those are just my suggestions and would be beneficial for me.

Sounds like what you are describing is a form of private sharing. Or am I off-base here?
Btw, pretty cool that you were part of a world record :)
Yes. Private sharing is
Yes. Private sharing is what I have in mind. Understood this brings about a method for certain people to share porn or copyrighted movies with others without the general public knowing but surely there has to be a way to keep things like this from happening and allow for those who wish to use it for clients to do so yes?
In my particular situation it would be beneficial for weddings as well as for some corporate clients who do not wish for their competition to become privy to their inner-workings but still want to share it with satellite offices. Currently I have to employ seperate ftp accounts by which they can log in and download the entire video before watching it.
I hope that clarifies it a bit. Thanks.

Simple questions..
Why? Well simply because it's widespread, you can buy a DVD player for like 40 bux(with divx support), and you don't have to worry about wasting DVDs when you can have a much smaller filesize and just burn to a cd or burn multiple stuff to a DVD.
How? It helped me get my content to the TV simpler. There were those days when DVD burners were expensive, so you would either stick to VCD, or get an DivX Player, and we all know VCD quality..well, simply sux.
What do I love? I love the popularity of it, and it's becoming more common every day. All the available content in DivX is endless. I love how I don't have to take hours to take my videos to the TV by encoding them onto a DVD, when I can quickly burn it, pop it in and watch it. It's irreplaceable to me.
