Theres either something wrong with the download or the program itself;

Either the links wrong and it isnt the newest version, or the software is constantly wrongly claiming there is a newer one.
Been like this for months now, different people, machines ect.

Same problem

Yeah i had the same problem. It was always telling me i had an outdated version, was kind of weird, it was even telling me that right after downloading the latest one. The discussion on the problem was nice, great food for thought, it seems like the problem is solved now. The divx team has always been doing great work, this was a weird problem, hopefully it won't come back in the new versions ;)

I concur:

My name is Randy Decker, (UltiMan), and had already downloaded the latest create bundle from recently paying for the whole kit and kaboodle; however, after downloading the latest release, which is a beta (and against my usual principles) but desparate to get something, ANYTHING, working. I, too, have a message 'that I need to download the lastest Dr. DivX available (beta4)'. It seems either the code writers or the website IT team needs to go back to the drawing board. I am about ready to try the codec 6.6.1 that is on the same page as the beta 4 Dr. DivX (isn't that already a part of the bundle?), and I HOPE that somehow it works the majick we all have been so patiently waiting to achieve. I have a legal background; if you feel your money has not yet delivered a workable product, and would appreciate effective legal recourse, email me at unileg57@hotmail.com ; I have been specially trained by a Pentagon constitutionalist how to put the legal whoopass on people needing to be held responsible for such unconscienably licentious actions, by reaching WAY DEEP into their wallet - it seems to be the only way 'get their attention' and/or 'acceptable behavior' including, but not limited to, a refund for the non-working product. No disclaimer exists that is constitutionally legal to be treated like this, no matter what.
Best Regards to all,
Randy Scott Decker

Dr. DivX and DivX are two completely separate products. They are not bundled together for legal reasons (something a self-proclaimed legal eagle would have spotted almost immediately).

Money? What money? Dr. DivX is free. If you paid money for it, then your beef isn't with DivX Labs, it's with whomever charged you money for free software.

Oh, so then you know that there's nothing in the Constitution that governs commerce, and that the training you claim to have has no bearing on the situation at hand. Or do you?

I'm not affiliated with DivX Labs in any way, but just to show that I'm a stand-up guy, I've taken it upon myself to to step up to the plate for them and refund the $0.00 you spent on Dr. DivX directly to your credit card. To compensate you for your troubles, I even included an additional $0.00 on top of the $0.00 you paid for Dr. DivX. There's more where that came from, so let me know if this reimbursement does not satisfy you.

It's not Constitutionally illegal, either. But, again, you knew that already . . . right?

As if we didn't have enough reason to steer clear of your legal services, I'd just like to point out that I would sooner hire a half-retarded monkey on crack to provide me with legal representation than hire someone who can't spell "magic," and solicits clientèle over the Internet using a Hotmail account. Just food for thought . . .
