why i need to reboot my PC each time i want to use my dms-330 ...alway get "walking up server" after a while?

im still having the same issue since i've bought this box ...

im running vista (am5620-e5406a 32 bit), my computer is setup to never goes into sleep mode, set to full performance, my network card has been set like it said with this webpage ==> http://labs.divx.com/wol

but after a while im still getting this windows (see attached file...)

WHAT GOING ON WITH VISTA, it does not handle the wol correctly even is my computer never goes into sleep ?

PLEASE NEED A WAY TO TROUBLESHOOT the WALKING_UP SERVER WINDOWS !!!

Restart the process.

You can bring up task manager on your PC and kill the divxconnected process then restart it from your start menu or a shortcut. That usually works for me and it's faster than restarting your computer.

im having a lot of problems

im having a lot of problems with disconnecting with the latest server, which often brings up the attempting to wake server screen. very irritating!

Outpost 7 Security Suite & DivX Connected

Well since installing Outpost 7 Security Suite over a month ago I havnt had a single failure with DivX Connected.

Its connected every single time with no problem.

Anyone else using this or wants to take the time to install it and verify it please?

Mine does this but it is usually (i think) because of the ip changing. 90% of the time I can hit cancel and then there is a copy of the DSM server in white which I click on.

I have no idea why their are like 4 of the same exact "servers" on the DSM menu. Maybe they are each a different IP it rotates through?

waking up server

an old thread but hoping someone may have a solution by now.

Having the same problem on Win7 x64, netgear dg834gt, both wireless and wired, all server software builds.

The DSM can be pinged from the pc so it is connected but the divx connected software says its not connecting.

Sometimes rebooting solves the problem, sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes its fine for days, other times it messes up from day to day.

Same issues regardless of firewall/antivirus flavour or total lack of.

Anyone have some new info?

Cant find server!!!

I have a dlink 330, which is great in principle, BUT with my vista pc running I have a problem getting connect. the laptop that I have running XP, no problem connects all the time , when ever. but the vista desktop always has a problem. I suspected that the security software / firewall were the cause, but I have made some changes and got connected, but yet again, cant find server a few days later. It sometime connects when I reset computer and wireless router. so there is obviously something with the PC that it doesn't like or a setting somewhere that needs changing.
Any advice would be welcome, very frustrating for an otherwise great setup!!

I have the same problem.

I have the same problem. Server crashes silently & I have to kill it in task manager; then after re-starting the server it will work fine; for a few hours. This has always happened, but has increased 10times with latest server build. Please fix it ASAP, my girlfriend takes it out on me :)

I should add it will never crash while playing. It usually crashes while selecting a new file to play or after idling for a few mins. I can confirm this happens on two seperate PCs both using wired connection.

Been seeing it since 1.5 release

It's been happening to me too. I don't reboot, I just go to task manager, kill the connected processes, then restart, and things go back to normal. It can happen anywhere from a few hours to a few days.

Running XP on an Atom 330. I can't remember the build number, but it's like 75 or something....whatever the latest was.

I do wonder if it has something to do with indexing. For example, I just dumped several hundred photos into the pictures folder...but there's no immediate cause and effect so it's hard to say.

What's a realistic size for the database anyway? I'm probably well over 20,000 pictures, and a few hundred videos, and several hundred audio tracks.

Still love this device.

i have disable the onboard NIC and put a new PCI NIC ... i ll will let you know if it sound better like that after a week

Must be frustrating - Do you have another PC you could try the server on for a few days? I find it unlikely to be the PC itself, particularly if you are not getting any dropped internet/network connections.

When the problem happens and you go to your PC and look at the server, is the server running fine? When you click device settings, what is it saying about the device? eg Not connected etc..

Perhaps also look at your router, I wonder if it is changing the IP address.

The only logs I'm aware of are for when the server crashes. Maybe DivX could help you with some additional assistance though...

Domenic,

This message often occurs when a connection between the 330 and the server cannot be made/has been lost. For instance, if you exit the Connected sotware on the PC and try to run the 330, it will bring up this message. So, need to identify if source of the problem is the client, server or connection between the two.

-Does this message come up everytime you run the 330 or intermittently?
-When this happens, has the Connected server on the PC frozen/crashed?
-Are you running wired or wireless?

i tested everything!!!

Before i used to wireless connection.... no matter i stop start the divx connected software i always got " walking up software..."

Like i said THE ONLY WORKAROUND is to reboot my PC and like that im OK for a couple of hours or days..

NOW i use i wire connection, but the same behavior happen too...

I really dont know what it is....

firmware is : DSM-330_1.1.3.4
software version i have : DivX Connected™ Server 1.5.1 Build 20 Beta

Is there a way to but verbose logs or trace the divx software ?

I've started to notice the

I've started to notice the same thing happening now and again since the last release. In my case it is always due to be the server software having crashed on the PC. Ending it and restarting resolves the problem.

It would be interesting to hear if others are having intermittent server issues with the latest release.
