I somehow ended up encoding a disc with Spanish subtitles by mistake. Is there a way to suppress them during playback?

Depends, if the subtitles

Depends, if the subtitles were extracted to a separate file (eg SRT) either within or outside the avi container, you can simply use the menu button on the DSM-330 when playing the file to turn them off.

On the other hand, if they have been burned into the movie, you're out of luck. In this case, you need to rip the movie again ;0)

Well, I have one of the orange units and there is no "subtitle" button on the remote as described in the DSM-330 manual. I don't mind re-encoding. Just time consuming. But it's the A-Team so it would be worth it!

Use the Audio button

If you have an orange device, your remote should have a button labeled "Audio". It is the second button from the bottom left.
