Well, has anybody already checked the compatibility of our Server with brandnew WHS?
I guess that could be quite interesting.
As I know, the WHS supports some kind of Plug-in technology.
Today I have received a 120day trial of WHS.
Next week I will give it a try.

Connected Freezing out

I've been able to install and browse all of my Videos on my EX470 WHS but whenever I try to connect to the server it freezes out and crashes. Any suggestions?

DivX Connect on WHS

Unfortunately DivX connect will not install on the WHS as it is Windows 2003 based and that OS does not seem to be supported (rejected on set up). however I have managed to run Virtual PC 2007 with Vista and DivX Connect installed on the WHS server however the virtual hardware gave appalling perfomance (slow meno response, poor picture quality, etc).

Divx Connect and WHS

I purchased my DIVX Connected box yesterday (27th Feb) and it was delivered today, after reading your posts I was upset to discover that it would not function on Windows Home Server, however I thought I would give it ago anyway, rather than quit and send it back. I am pleased to inform you that it works and works like a dream, installed directly from the CD, setup was simple and easy to follow - I then ran to the TV and hey presto the fantastic box of tricks was doing its thing!!

Finally a good method for stream my vast collection to my HD TV in the lounge without having to waste a laptop to do it for me.

All is well with the world now :)

It hasn't been officially

It hasn't been officially tested on WHS, but we'd love to hear back from you if you decide to test it out !

DivX Connect V1.1.0 Build 12 works on WHS

A correction to my last post. I have successfully installed V1.1.0 build 12 on my WHS Machine. I must apologise I had been lazt with previous attempts. I originally contactd DivX support and they had said that windows 2003 (therefore WHS) was not supported and had taken that forgranted. initial attempts with the supplied CD had failed on initial setup so I had accepted that it would not work on WHS. however yesterday as a last desperate attempt I loaded just the download file for Version 1.1.0 build 12. It installed perfectly and runs as XP compatible. note you must link the files via 'my computer' not the share folder as this is essentially a network link and therefore v1.1.0 build 12 has issues playing files.

Great!

When it runs good on Windows Home Server I'll exchange my Windows Media Center with a cheaper DivX Connected and use in every room an extender... :)
