Metadata editing in Divx Connect

Metadata editing in Divx Connect

I'm a newbie in the field of Divx Connected.
I plan to order one for Christmas and i already loaded the server Software
to prepare my datas.
The metadata editing function was a bit frustrating since :
- I didn't recover all my MP3 tags (some embedded pictures were missing, few genres and album titles also)
- It doesn't seem to have a link between the metadata edited for the video and the avi files (as long as a tool like
abcAVI tag editor is concerned)
- I couldn't figure out how to edit the metadata for photos

So a few questions :
- how about some explanations about the format of the metadata,
- where are they stored ?
- is there a way to edit them manuallly or by scripts
- is there a plan to improve this functionnality (like connect to amazon, imdb, read exif data of jpef files, etc..)

The interface is nice but it would a pain in the neck to retype all those data in the metadata editing tool
for a poor result at the end.

Metadata info

We do not acutally store the meta data in the file. It is kept in a Connected data base. We import existing meta data from Music only. Currently there is a limitation of supporting JPEG only for the album art.

We are certaintly going to improve the meta data handing in the future, but we are currently working on improviing the database structure and performance first.

We do support a multi-edit feature so that you can easily apply the same artwork or genre info to many files at once. You just have to multi-select them in the file window of media tab.

I will look further into the possibility of accessing the database directly with 3rd party tools and let know if it it possible.
