His heart is still beating! Thanks to kamiwa, the Dr. has been updated to support the DivX Codec 6.8. Get the installers from the download page.

I recently downloaded dr.

I recently downloaded dr. DivX 2.0 OSS and the DivX-bundle, but when I try to convert a MPEG-2 movie to DivX, the program ends with an error!

AppName: drdivx2.exe AppVer: 2.0.0.14 ModName: divxmux.dll
ModVer:0.0.0.0 Offser: 0001a279

Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

super

It was a great video conversion even though it takes a lot of memory when you had a place to load them like Stage 6. It makes the best quality videos at the expense of memory. Each video you convert to DivX is going to be 40,000 to 60,000 KB compared to the conventional 9,000 to 12,000KB of the normal videos. So its not like you can convert a lot of videos on your pc just to have around.
DivX use to support Stage 6 for playing DivX videos but since 2/28/08 it has closed Stage 6 down without giving their existing members enough notification to recover their videos & contacts. They gave a 4 day notice of Closure, so DivX does not Value their customers at all. But the big question of DivX is Where are you going to upload & play all those great videos you converted & as far as I know there is no place that is going to allow such bulky uploads. So that brings you to the question; Whats the purpose of DivX....There is none at this moment nor in the foreseeable future as DivX has gone into the product market of blu-ray players etc...

Thanks for a GREAT update!

Thanks for the update. The previous version would not work on my Vista install. Now, with the DivX 6.8 Codec and the current Dr. DivX, All is wonderful and working fine!
