mkv support ?
Hello,
First of all I'd like to say the divx connected device is, at last, exactly what i was looking for and i'm very happy with it ! So, a big "thank you" to all people of the community working to bring us new features.
I know this question is probably frequent, but is mkv file support planned ? I remember I red somewhere that it should only need a software update (just a matter of reencoding process ?)... This would be the ultimate feature and a great chistmas gift :-p !
Some user have figured out ways of adding support for virtually anything. Other users have tried it

Thank you for recognizing the value of the platform. You are exactly the type of user we have created the platform for. Spreadiing the word to others so that the community grows is the best way to make sure that more capabilites get added to the platform by other users. Your support of this through recommendations and reviews would be greatly appreciated. Please do not hesitate to let us know if there are any other features you like or would like.
well i had seen that article, but i can't get it working with the provided config file : I still can't see mkv files, but also now there is a large part of the left side of the TV screen which remains black, hiding menus and everything. and it remains like that even after removing the config file... i guess i'll have to reinstall the server software :-(
anyway this is rather experimental, so i was hoping for an "official" support...
a little update on the topic...
i tried everything i could and lost hours and hours, but no way to get anything working as described. all seems configured the same way it's described by the tutorial (same clsid, ...) but no way to get files detected by the connected software.
it's really frustating not being able to play MPEG, MKV, VOB, ... files
when you know it's possible ! is there any chance to have the connected software making the job natively some day (like it was done for WMV) ? I bought the device especially because i wanted an open system, but with these limitations and all the other problems raised i'm getting really disapointed... particularly because I love the concept and expected a lot !
Just so you know, WMV is done the same way. Anyways, are you sure that you have ffdshow, ac3filter and haali splitter installed & ENABLED?
at last, i managed to get it working ! I just reinstalled all software from scratch step by step, watching carefully for options, and all is now fine.
I suspect that the first time, ffdshow was configured with the "run only with the following programs" option (default setup), which has do be DISABLED (divx connected is not in the list). Hope this info will help people with the same problem...
Now, i have to play a bit with settings to get what i want (for example, i can now play VOB files, but they are displayed with 4:3 ratio even from a widescreen DVD). I also noticed that the file size limitation I faced with divx files is not happening with files processed by ffdshow (like mkv), which is good news !
Anyway, thanks to everybody for your help & support, and for people sharing their knowledge about the Divx Connected platform. This is certainly the greatest stength of the product !
Regards, and happy new year to everybody !
