Windows 7 hangs when launching DivX player 7
My computer completely freezes when I launch Divx Player 7. It hangs right away, never gets by the Divx logo. What to do, just boucht DivX Pro? This is really annoying.
Windows 7 Ultimate is RTM version d/l from Microsoft Technet.

Hello from germany!
I had the same problem and contact the DivX-support before nearly two weeks. No solution until today.
Today I have fixed the problem by my self after some testings.
Listen: All at your own risk!
Open the registry editor and go to:
LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Then delete the entry "Lowerfilters". Maybe also "Upperfilters". I have only the Lower with the key "PxHelp20".
After that you must restart windows 7 and then the DivX Player worked.
Hopefully there a further information by DivX-Support the next days.
Greets,
XPS
Having a similar problem, just updated to Windows 7 64-bit RTM. When running latest version of DivX player the Logo shows then the system hangs and eventually results in a BSOD with nvlddmkm.sys the apparent problem. All latest drivers installed, no problem with any other program, just the DivX player.
I had no problem with DivX Player with Vista 64-bit, so I'm guessing there is some incompatability between the W7 drivers and DivX player.
Same problem. I guess this still hasn't been addressed?
same here. Have Windows 7 RC1, and until now the former player versions worked fine. The newest release does not get passed the logo. THe converter works though.
