Dr. DivX Mac Update
Wed, 02/28/2007 - 11:25 — DrDivX

We've found an issue with the DivX encoder registration on the Mac which causes the Dr. to crash when video encodes begin. This happens only when you are using the "Community" version of the codec. It does not happen when you are using the "Pro" version of the codec.
You can use either QuickTime Pro or iMovie (depending on what you have) to fix the DivX encoder registration issue.- If you have QuickTime Pro, open any video file in QuickTime Player. If you have iMovie or iMovie HD, start a project and import any video file into the project.
- Select "File" -> "Export..."
- If you are using iMovie, Select "Expert Settings" from "Compress movie for:" combo box and click "Share"
- Select "Movie to DivX" from "Export:" combo box and click "Options...".
- Select "Advanced Settings..." radio button and click "Advanced Settings..."
- Click "Codec" tab
- Click "Continue" on the "DivX Pro Codec Trial" message box
- Click "Cancel" on all dialog boxes and quit the application.
