I'd like to convert some FLV files I have to AVI using Dr. DivX 2.01. Version 2.00 doesn't support FLV files, apparently. Whenever I load in a FLV file, Dr. DivX crashes during the 'Analysis' procedure. Has anyone been able to make this work for FLV files?

Here's some info about my environment:

Dell Dimension 4600
Win XP SP2
3 GB RAM
DivX Pro 6.8 (Not trial version)

The FLV file is encoded as FLV4/VP62, from what it said in GSpot ( see here. )

Everything else looks fine from what I can tell, but I am no expert.

Has anyone else run into this, and, more importantly, is there a fix?

Thanks,
Tim

Solution!!

Hi, I have been experiencing the same problem and i think i have stumbled upon a solution. I downloaded a windows media player plug in (playflv) which allows wmp to play flv files. Once installed Dr. Divx seems to be able to convert flv to divx fine. Have encountered only one file that will cause the program to crash out of about 10 downloaded (i will use media convert web app for this one. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help...

Unfortunately, I am still experiencing the same issue. When I installed PlayFLV, it doesn't play in WMP, even though I re-installed FFDShow. I guess I'll have to find another way.

Thanks!
