Unable to register with Divx OVS

I have a problem with my player with which I contacted support but unfortunately have not received a reply. So if anyone can help me out here, I'd be really grateful. I could not find anything on the web that would help sofar.
So this is my problem:
When trying to log on my divx account with version 7.0 I was prompted to download the latest version so I could logon This version was 7.3, OVS - actually a version that is no listed in the product section. When I tried to logon with this version, this logon failed. It said in German:
"Registrierung fehlgeschlagen. Ihr Computer konnte jetzt nicht registriert werden." i.e.:
"Registration failed. Your computer could not be registered now."
- Turning the player off an on did not help.
- I deleted the player and downloaded it again. Actually, you can only download version 7.0 from the site, so again I was prompted when trying to logon, to download the new version 7.3 as above with the same results as described above.
- creating a new account from a different address did not help.
I am prompted to register when I want to open films I purchased from private.com, if that is any help. They worked fine when I purchased them a couple of months ago.
My system is Windows Vista Home Premium.

The issue I am having is this. I downloaded the latest version (7.3) so that I could register my DVD players and every time I put in my password under the VOD option, it prompts me to upgrade to the lastest version. I'm not sure why it's doing this but it is extremely frustrating. I'm not trying to play any videos on my computer.

If you are receiving the "Registration failed. Your computer could not be registered now." error message with the new DivX Player 7.3 then it may be caused by having an accent mark or foreign character in the the name of your computer. Please try removing any from your computer name and then see if you can register your computer.
Yes the DivX Player 7.3 does not include the built in burning engine like in 7.2. The built in burner will be returning in an upcoming version. for the time being you can use your regular burning software to burn your DivX files to CD or DVD. Just make sure to burn them as data or in data mode. You can also use your OS's built in burning option. Here is an FAQ that may help:

I exactly have the same problem. I downloaded divx free player
and then it prompts me to download the latest version. Cause i
would not be able to access my account if i don't download it So i download it and then when i open up the divxovs player it's all
white just like the background of this forum.I could not access my
account i want to register my ps3 device been doing this for 5 hours
now lol i downloaded the .dll files microsoft told me to download
but the player still doesn't open it's all white and microsoft error
pops out whenever i try to open the player

btw i have just reformatted the pc i don't know if im missing something in order to open the 7.3 divx version player. The last player opens. But when i update it to 7.3 it doesn't open anymore.
If only i could register in version 7. I wouldn't even complain about 7.3 anymore please help us!
I don't have any problems, but I have been confused about version 7.3.
I opened the divx player and prompted to update. I installed the update, but I don't remember if it was 7.2 or 7.3. Then when I tried to watch a divx VOD I got the update window again. The message indicated that in order to watch divx vod's an update had to be installed. I downloaded the DivXOVSPlayerinstaller app; then installed, and logged in to my account.
I haven't had any problems. I became suspicious about the divx player 7.3 version after I was unable to find any mention of the 7.3 version anywhere online.
when I click the about player option from the menu, here is what is displayed: DivX Player version 7.3.0 build 10.0.0-153 BillyIdol
Does anyone know anything about 7.3 OVS?
The player 7.3 is only being released to users of our VOD system with the update being triggered by playing back DivX VOD content.
Thanks for the information. I also noticed that I no longer have the option to burn a dvd. I used to burn all my Download To Own movie purchases to a dvd, after updating to 7.3 the option is gone. The Tab (that used to be on the right of the player) is gone, and right clicking the movie title doesn't have an option to burn to disc.
