WHERE DO YOU UPLOAD DIVX FILES

WHERE DO YOU UPLOAD DIVX FILES

This is ridiculous.
I am using the divx generator to create an html/embed code to play videos on my forums and websites. so first it says it has to be a divx file.
ok no big deal i converted it into a divx file using dr divx.

so now i go to upload to a few different host and put the url and other info in and generate the code.

so i place the code in and preview on my forum, it says error 404 video can not be found blah blah blah..

so where the hell are you supposed to upload the divx files so you can generate a code that will work on your forums/websites so you can view the vid?

i mean if i have to upload to youtube or another host that already gives you code then whats the purpose of even using divx?
they make it sound so easy.sure just generate the code and place on yore site.. yeah but do they bother to tell you where you have to upload the vid to allow you to do this..

all i want to do is generate a divx code for my videos to play on my forums and websites.. but no host will work. so where do you upload the divx files.

any help will be much appreciated

dont work from divx vine

dont work from divx vine either?

HAHA lol the bbc codes dont seem to work here either..

I was able to see your embed code.

The URL in your embed code pointed to an HTML page, not a downloadable divx file.

The file must be hosted in a manner that the web play can access it directly in the same way as a browser would doanload it.

An example URL that works in this manner is:

http://download.divx.com/divxlabs/Apples_and_Oranges_Trailer_720-12Mbps.divx

well i found this place. but

well i found this place. but now forumotions server is down so i cant test it... lol
http://divxvine.com/?op=my_files

it is a mess though. if divx is going to provide and lead people to think that they can generate a code to place on your forums websites etc..

then they should provide you with the appropriate information on where you can upload to a host that will allow you to generate the code for heaven's sake..

so i don't know. if i don't get it to work .. or have to go through a bunch of b/s just to find a host i will just live stream.

i mean i am a lil upset right now i have been on this try to get something to work for like 4 hours now.

for something that honestly i don't even know why o would even want to use this garbage now. i mean i can upload to veho or something. whats the point of going through all this.

so i will try a few more things. if i get it to work then great.. if not screw it i will move on and just go back to live streaming.

thank you for your help and reply though, i do appreciate this very much.

i am just very aggravated right now... lol

but you think this is bad you should have seen ME trying to find a host that supports 100mb of flash... hahaha that was fun.

why cant they just have something to where you can upload the file directly from your computer and they give you the code.
Yeah keep dreaming right... lol

Well here's file. but the

Well here's file. but the problem is i do not know what host to upload the file to that will allow me to use the divx generator to get the code to embed on my forums.

I mean obviously the url from the file host i have tried do not support the divx generator.. so all i need to know is where to upload the divx files that will allow the divx code generator to work.

all the file host i have tried, the divx generator given me the embed code and the player shows up. but it will not play the file because it dose not support the host... lol

here's the file.
divx test file one .divx - 6.34MB

but the question is. where do i upload divx files that are compatible to the divx code generator?

i sent to your pm too :)

kirkt02: First of all, the

kirkt02: First of all, the DivX Web Player HTML code generator only need a STATIC LINK to the DivX (.divx) file because DivX Web Player does not stream any other format other than AVI, DivX, and MKV (using DivX Web Player 2.0). You need to supply a "direct link" to the ".divx" file and not a forwarded code-base page. What this means is that whatever server you upload your DivX file to, you must know the EXACT or DIRECT location to the file on that web server. Like the people have stated above, the service you upload your video to does not give a direct link to the DivX file. For example:

THIS IS NOT A DIRECT LINK to the DivX file.
http://www.anyfreesite.com/video.php&watch?v=ugANqQprJFI
Explanation: "ugANqQprJFI" IS NOT a DivX file.

This is a DIRECT LINK to the DivX file.
http://www.anyfreesite.com/media/divx/kirkdance.divx
Explanation: "kirkdance.divx" IS a file.

kirkt02, if you don't mind me being frank with you, I want to say something off my chest. You are dealing with coding and you didn't comprehend. DivX Web Player needs to stream a video file not a web page. Your attitude and character seems to throw people off from giving you the proper answer you deserve to know. The code generator is coded to only generate when it sees a supported file! This stuff should be left for people who knows a little bit about HTML codes. You are clueless but you've tried your best. Just don't throw us your attitudes.

PS: The only "i" that should not be capitalized is when it is part of a normal word, other wise, always capitalize it. I try not to be rude. I try. :)

File Hosting

File sharing services like zshare.net do not provide direct access to the files that you upload. They only provide indirect links that allow them to insert advertising before you can retrieve your file.

You need a real web host provider that allows you to upload any file and then allows direct access to your files. For example, see bluehost.com or dreamhost.com. These services will allow any file such as a DivX video, JPEG picture, MP3 song or HTML web page.

It will be difficult to find a general web host provider like that for free, but many are less than $10/mo. YouTube, Flickr and zShare are free services but they have very specific and limited usages.

Can you send me a PM with the URL?

Can you send me a PM with the URL of a video that you have uploaded?
