Scanner Hangs (sometimes crashes) 32-bit Windows XP, latest build 20

I saw some talk about this with people using 64-bit XP.
Mine seems to be repeatably hanging on particular files. These are .avi files I generated with Handbrake using the Xvid codec.
The files are not particularly large, but one factor might be that there's a larger number of these clips per directory that I usually have (there's about 50-60 in the directories that are hanging.)
I tried to attach a 50Mb clip that seemed to cause the problem but the server seemed to hang on my upload.
I was having the same problem with my Windows XP Prof SP3 machine (32 Bit).What I did was, downgraded the server to 1.4 and then upgraded to 1.5 build 75 from there as the build 75 is not offered via download and upgrading from an inferior version was the only way...
