xbox 360 extender not working
Hi,I heard about the DivX Tech Preview through another website I visit and thought I would give it a try. I have installed the Tech Preview and DivX Encoder but can not get any mkv's to appear on the xBox extender (but it picks up normal .avis from the same folder fine) but they will appear on the Media Centre within Windows 7. Any help appreciated.

Are you trying to access them through Windows Media Center on the Xbox, or just the media folder? This Tech Preview only supports playing the MKVs through the Windows Media Center on the Xbox 360.
There's a video here that gives all the details:

Let us know if this is what you tried.
Hi, yes that's what I tried. It finds the .avi's fine but not mkv's.
Same problem here!
Same... :(
Well I got it to work.
I should mention that I'm running the 64 bit W7 Release Candidate.
I can't really say what made it work, but I reinstalled the following in a blind attempt based off what people were saying around the forums, if installing the ac3filter and matroskasplitter is bad advice then someone please say so. Also restarted comp and xbox a few times.
DivXTechPreviewMKVOnWin7R3_0.exe
DivXInstaller.exe
DivXH264Encoder_Beta2.exe
ac3filter_1_63b.exe
MatroskaSplitter.exe
By the way, this is amazing! thank you!
On another note, if it helps anyone, whilst trying to play video files my Xbox360 Media Center Extender was disconnecting when browsing videos with the message "A program on your Windows Media Center PC has caused the Xbox 360 to disconnect."
Well I turned off all the Extras in the Xbox360 MCE Extras Library (Tasks > Settings > Start Menu and Extras > Extras Library) (I'm thinking maybe the 'media browser' extra was responsible) and it doesn't seem to be disconnecting anymore. I hope that helps someone out there.
