DivX Codec conflict with "Subtitle Workshop"
I use the application "Subtitle Workshop", which runs both Windows Media Player and DivX Codec in the background when in use. (For info, the application is used to create an English subtitles file to run concurrently with an .avi media file, but that's not important or really relevant to the problem I'm encountering.)
When I attempt to use "Subtitle Workshop", the application quite frequently crashes and I always then get one of those Microsoft Windows "Problem Reports & Solutions" screens, and it says:
"Address a problem with DivX™ Codec.
DivX™ Codec has stopped working properly.
DivX, Inc. is aware of this problem and working as quickly as possible to make a solution available.
Go to DivX, Inc. website for more information and support options."
Well.... I can't find anything on DivX wesite(s) that addresses this Subtitle Workshop crashing problem, what might be causing it, or what DivX might be doing to remedy it. Anybody know anything about it, or does anyone have any suggestions on a work-around or adjustments I could make in my DivX bundle settings to prevent it???
Thanks!!

If possible, I would try replacing DivX with Xvid. It's an open source substitute for the DivX codec that is generally patched faster than DivX itself is. If that does not work, then the issue is mst likely related to Subtitle Workshop making an inappropriate or malformed call.
