how can i remove the beta web player ( osx )?
Hi all,
the beta-player doesn't work on my mac
withosx 10.6.2.
I want to remove it and go back to the standard version that is shipped with divx7.
how can I remove the beta player? a simple use of the uninstall tool in the divx folder in applications doesn't seem to work... :(

Can you install the latest DivX 7 for Mac? It should over-ride the beta version with the latest production version:

I have installed the Divx package several times and it won't overwrite the 2.0 beta. I really want to downgrade to the previous version since this beta is very, very buggy. Please tell me what I can do to stop it from updating to the 2.0 beta! I just want to go back to the stable version I had!
KR,
Please make sure that you've completely closed out all open browsers when you uninstall, including any open download windows. Sometimes the browsers will not release the plugin until you do this and the uninstaller can't remove the files cleanly, at least until a restart.
I suggest:
* Install the latest bundle
* Close out all your browsers completely
* Uninstall the latest bundle
* Re-install the version you want
A bit tedious but if you're having problems it's worth going through the process.
Hope that helps.
If you are trying to roll back to previous versions, you can find installers on our legacy page:
http://support.divx.com/faq/view/supportFAQen003/DivX-Legacy-Version
If you are on a mac, you may get an error telling you that a newer version already exists and you can't install an older version. If that happens, try removing all DivX receipts from this location ~/library/receipts
Hopefully this will help you out :)
