Ok, I installed the 'MKV on Windows 7' Pack from here:

http://download.cnet.com/DivX-7-for-Windows/3000-13632_4-10062728.html?part=dl-79917&subj=dl&tag=button

It installed the whole kit with Player, Web Player, MKV on Windows 7, etc. I have installed AC3Filter Full and I have even restarted my computer, but still no playback in either WMP or WMC.

Looks like I fixed it by

Looks like I fixed it by installing Shark007 codecs... Your DivX bundle only breaks down the MKV package type but does not actually include the codecs necessary for playback in WMC

Thanks for that

Thanks :)

You solved my problem,
I couldn't play the .mkv's in WMP, also, in the DivX player I had video but no sound.
The shark codecs seemed to solve this.
