No Chapters in WMP or WMC

I've tried encoding some dvd's using handbrake to the MKV format, and the chapters show up just fine in VLC, but when I play it in WMP or WMC there's no fast forward, reverse, next/previous chapter functionality. I have yet to try streaming any of these mkv's to my 360, if the chapters don't work in WMP or WMC I don't think they'll work on the 360 (the mp4's I've ripped using handbrake have chapters in VLC, but don't show chapters in WMP or WMC too). I've installed the free divx 7 for windows and the tech preview, and tried ripping a MKV using DivX Converter which ended up with no chapters in WMP or VLC.

I'd love to see a solution to this, either for mkv's or mp4's if anyone can help.
