Some of my MKV videos play perfect. However, some others just won't play at all. I tried one shorter file names. Only thing I can think of is file size. The ones that work are around the 1gb area the ones that will not are 10gb+. Not sure what else to try.

Video Error

Files needed to display video are not installed or are not working correctly. Restart Windows Media Center or restart the computer.

***works in windows media center on the pc, but no audio and looks really bad. In windows media player it is PERFECT. Can't figure this out.

Try using MKVmerge and split

Try using MKVmerge and split the large files after timecode 01:00:00h. Thats ONE HOUR :) .
That could help. Did the trick for one of my mkv.

Is this a known issue? Some of my larger mkv-files (+1 hour) won't run on the Xbox, but they do show up fine in Media Center.

Is it the following product that you're referring to?

Well not great at this. I guess it was the DTS audio? I converted the audio to ac3? It's working great now.

Did I have to do that though?
