Well the new version of the DivX 7.2 package came out and I wanted to report that the gamma issue I previously reported here with the beta version is still there…
:-\

The workaround works though: put full screen, then use Esc to restore back in the browser.

You might just want to fix

You might just want to fix your renderer. I have no idea what on earth you guys are doing that makes it so slow.

I'm currently on a MacBook 2.16 ghz Core 2 Duo with an Intel card (I also have similar issues with a 2.2ghz MacBook Pro with an nvidia 8600). 10.5 and 10.6 are equally as effected. I've downloaded and played back the 2012 trailer (720p) and played it back on DivX Player 7 and Core Player. Here is the trace through OpenGL Profiler

CorePlayer: http://lordrpi.kicks-ass.org/renderer/cphd.png
DivX Player: http://lordrpi.kicks-ass.org/renderer/dphd.png

For giggles, here is a SD clip using DivX 6 I downloaded off of Stage 6 a long time ago.

DivX Player: http://lordrpi.kicks-ass.org/renderer/dpsd.png

P.S. Note that the DivX Player is dropping frames left and right while CorePlayer plays ever single last frame.

P.P.S. Note that this is a pretty lame-o intel card and it has no issue doing 720p with CorePlayer. Its using NOTHING fancy.

Fix your stuff!

Try this firmware:

Try this firmware: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/atiradeonx1900xtfirmwareupdate.html

We used this one for some of our iMacs and it fixed the issue.

As for the forum...me too. I really wish it would allow you to do email subscriptions to threads.

Thanks for the update

Thanks for the update Cortig. Don't worry about sending your system info again since you already posted before. We have been doing some research on this issue and it looks like there is an OpenGL update for OS X that isn't automatically pushed through Apple's updater that fixes the issue. I can't find the link right now, but I'll try and get it from one of our engineers.

I can't find it on the regular Apple website, or on ADC…

Maybe its me or I just don't

Maybe its me or I just don't get it. I've been working on Macs and writing video player code longer than anybody reading this forum. How on earth do you, by taking an optimal rendering pipeline, mess up gamma?

That my friend, takes talent.
