Can I stop the prompt for update ?
My site www.videocluster.net runs better with the old version of divx. Is there a way I can stop the annoying prompt "please upgrade". I don't want people upgrading and I do not want non upgrades being punished with this prompt each time they go to watch a video.
Yeah, suck it, malware!
The Web Player update notifier cannot be disabled from the Preferences. The setting there only makes it less frequent.
I want the updating prompt to be disabled completely.

In the DWP Preference, there's a way to disable the update. Unfortunately, this responsibility lies on the user's choice. They have to go in Preference in the DWP (DivX Web Player) and untick to disable the updating notification.

Also an easy way to disable this malware, (remember malware is something that steals your processor time, tries to replace working software with CRAP you don't want, or uses bandwidth that YOU never asked for nor wanted...) but just use CCleaner and go into the startup options and disable 'DIVXupdate.exe' there. Don't delete it, or this UNWANTED and INVADING piece of maleware will try to re-set itself to stealing your processor and bandwidth, even once you run any video that you have not yet converted FROM divx to a faster non-invasive codex...
