DivX Player Problem
I am having trouble with my player. Every time I exit an error message comes up and says "This program is not responding" therefore will not close down. Have this problem on both of my computers.
Any suggestions please.

Suddenly,
When I try to run the Divx Player on Divx encoded video I get the message, "Divx Player Has Stopped Working".
The error comes up immediately when it starts to run a Divx encoded video. This happens with Divx videos that I have played many times in the past as well.
It does the same if the extension is .Divx or .Avi.
I am using Vista 64 bit ultimate.
I am running Divx Player for Windows version 7.2.
However, it will play in VLC.
What more information do you need ??
I see that issue at various spots on the Internet in doing a Google search. No answer has been listed.
PLEASE stay with web standards - Use Firefox 3.5x.
I have DivX Pro running in Vista Premium. Everytime I try to play a video it takes ages to open then I get an error message DivX Player has stopped working. Can anyone help me please.
i have samsung omnia pro B7320.it is window mobile version 6.1
i have download divx player.all type of version i have already tried,
pls tell me whats type of version will support?
pls tell me.will divx player support in my phone?and if it will support, then which type of version will support?tell me.
Sorry, I thought that I had explained it very well but not knowing the problem, maybe I did not put enough info down. When I use my DIVX player to check out a movie or to burn a DVD and it seems to be okay , I then turn off the DIVX player. When I turn it off either at the file (exit) or just click the cross, the player goes down to my tray. I then right click and tell it to close. The error message then comes up and says---this program is not responding at which time I then have to ctrl-alt-delete. This should not happen everytime I use the program.
Any suggestions why this is happening.
Thanks
Devon
When I say you did not supply enough information, I meant that you did not give the details of your applications and your OS and/or hardware spec.
Here's the run down. What version of DivX Player you are talking about. Did you obtain (or download) your DivX Player from this web site? What OS (operating system) are you using? What are your hardware spec? Example: Pentium 4 @2.8GHz Celeron 4GB RAM... NVIDIA 7600 GT...
You did not provide enough information for anyone to help debug your problem.

Since the problem with "Divx Player is Not Responding" is all over the web, if googled, it is kind of sad that Divx Support has chosen to ignore it and not help anyone, who has this problem.
However, my situation with Vista 64 ultimate is fixed.
Not only for the Divx Player, but with VLC as well.
There are more than one possible problem, that will cause a conflict that will cause this to occur.
For me, I had to submit a command to change the Registry via the cmd console.
I also made sure in my Program preferences that the Divx player was associated with avi and divx files.
Then the other item, which was suggested and helps with some, was to uninstall Nero Version 8.
After the uninstall and re-boot, the Divx Player (slow as all get out) and VLC were no able to work again on Divx encoded video.
The Nimo codec package could create conflicts as well.
If I would have to look at a bottom line with this, it really is about how Windows is horrific, proprietary operating system, which is FAR, more complex than it needs to be and keeps it secrets.
This would have been a far easier situation to resolve with Linux, or any other OS.
I am relieved and wonder what multi-media change I made that created the confusion for Windows.
Good luck and for Divx Support on this string. Help some people out with this stuff.
Thanks,
Jon T
