Divx doesnt work on line- HELP!
ok, here is the problem. when i try to watch a divx video online ie and netscape both just quit and i have to start ie or netscape again. infact when i have the web player installed, i cant even go to the divx site because ie shuts down.
if i uninstall the web player though, i can. of course i cant watch anything though. i have installed and reinstalled the webplayer more times than i can count. i even tried installing an older version (6.8) but it didnt work either.
i watch a lot of shows online and this is a real problem. i have been up for the past 12 hrs working on this. and i have tried everything. if i play a video that i have already downloaded on to my computer, it plays fine.
i am running win xp w service pack 3. 2.5 gig of ram with 50+ gigs of hd space free.
keep in mind that it worked before last night. i also should mention that i had to get rid of a nasty virus just prior to me discovering this problem. it was the antivirus pro ransomware. i was able to get rid of it, but then this problem showed up.
somebody please help!!!!
Thanks for letting me know it worked for you. :) It's a critical data for my mental note.
i have been wrestling with this for almost a week and it is becoming very annoying. I have tried to run the aupdate from ms website but keep geting error code 0x8024D007 also when reregistering wuaueng.dll i am recieving 0x80070005 as the reason for failure to register. Tied into all of this, i regularly watch shows on the web using dvix streaming and have done so for months but now whenever i try to do so, ie7 closes abruptly. but when i remove the dvix webplayer from my system, it doesnt crash ie7, but of course i cant watch the video. all of this occured after i was able to recover from an attack from the antiviruspro ransomeware virus. i tried everything that i could to correct this but nothing has worked so far. please help.
The solution is simple, taking into account that you know how to mod your registry properly.
The solution is in the way the IE set itself to handle the proxy streaming protocol. You can go to this thread and fix that problem and it will never ever come back to haunt you again. Don't forget to thank the solution founder for his tricks. :)
A browser crash solution issue .. i found for divx web player
Thanks Somnang,
We're looking at this issue now so that we can handle it in future.
