File Corrupt - DivX Mobile Player for Symbian S60 3rd Edition .93 Beta
I manage to download the DivX Mobile Player for Symbian S60 3rd Edition .93 Beta to my N95 8GB, but upon install it comes up as file corrupt. Anyone know where I can get a fixed package?
Perhaps the guys at DivX Labs can rebuild and post a new binary?
I'm not sure what "lost my divx" means. The i8910 is a DivX certified phone. You do not need to install DivX Mobile Player any other software to play DivX files. It should work right out of the box. You do not need to register with the DivX VOD service unless you purchase DivX videos from an on-line store like http://wbshop.com
I don't think there is anything that you could lose.
There appears to be a problem between Drupal (Labs) and many cell phones. The easiest solution is to point your phone at http://m.divx.com for downloading or use your computer to download from Labs and then copy to your phone.
The S60 download links can be found on Mobile Labs as well as in this comment thread. I have again verified the download and installed it on an N95 8GB. Please try your download again using the DivX Labs links.
The subject says it all.
The file still will not install. Download hangs at about 93% then fails with message "Unable to download DivXPlayer_S60_3rd.sisx" (I'm using a Nokia E71.)
It seems to download about 93% then says "Unable to download 'DivxPlayer_S60_3rd.sisx'"
I can download the file via my PC ok though. It's strange because I donloaded the old version (which has expired! and will not run anymore) in exactly the same way. Please can some one try it on a real N82 or via the N82 emulator downloadable via the Nokia site.
Hey, i have a working version on my N95 i got off the mobile site. it plays the Demos fine, and the files i compress with the pocket divx encoder play fine on my pc, but it plays half distorted video on my phone. I've shrunk a 700mb avi to around 92 mb, and it still distorts the lower half of the video.
Is there a patch anywhere, or a way to fix it?
The problem is probably due to Pocket DivX Encoder. Try using DivX software such as DivX Converter or Dr. DivX. You'll find DivX software has a pre-set "Mobile" profile that should work well with your phone.
Same here on N82...!
Try downloading the installer to your computer and use PC Suite to install the application on to your phone.
same problem here. I tried downloading the installer on my PC then moved it on a micro SD card and tryed to install it on my N95, but it says the file is corrupted..
Can you please solve the problem? It says that my version of divx mobile player expired so i cannot use it until i am not able to install the new one.
Make sure you have the right installer for your phone. Symbian S60 phones use the ".sisx" file. Symbian UIQ phones use the ".sis" file. Windows Mobile phones use the ".cab" file.
N95 uses Symbian S60and of course i downloaded the right installer with .sisx extension.. but it does not work (corrupted file message).
Can you please check what's wrong with the new release?
The S60 version is available from two different servers. Here are the links:
http://m.divx.com/divx/s60-3/DivXPlayer.sisx
http://labs.divx.com/system/files/private/DivXPlayer_S60_3rd.sisx
I downloaded the file from both locations. Neither installer appears corrupt and I verified they have the same size (908792 bytes) and MD5SUM (59308b5a0c31174169c7045143467d2f).
Check the size and/or MD5 of the sisx file you downloaded and verify it matches.
Hi there
There seems to be something funny with these 2 files.
The site reports it to be 952KB but it is really coming down at 888KB, sometimes even 887KB but it never reaches the reported 952KB.
This fails in a windows browser in IE and Firefox
This fails directly from the mobile browser as well
Could you please perform a test and zip it or use winrar and provide a link for testing ?
Its been difficult to try to get this downloaded and as reported earlier it shows 'File is Corrupted' when it installed in Nokia phone.
Thank you for your time and effort
We've tested both links from both servers on both Mac/PC and IE/Firefox. I'm not sure why there are so many problems, but from the reports I've seen, it appears to be isolated to mobile phones using Labs or download managers using Labs.
