Hello,

I hope somebody can help me here since I didn't find help on that topic somewhere....
I downloaded the latest Divx, installed it and when I try to open it it crashes without really starting up and a text message appears:
"The Application "Divx Player" was unexpectedly closes" Mac Osx and other Programs are not effected."

When I try to watch a video in the web with the divx web player, it doesn't work, too.
The web player doesn't open either!!! And thats the most important thing why I need DIVX for me!
Because as long as I have the Codec I can watch DIVX Videos still with QUICK TIME but watching a WEB video doesn'T work!

I tried so many things, deleting, reinstalling, deleting , redownload, reinstalling
deleting it with PACIFIST (an app that locates all files on the hard drive that were installed), redownloading and reinstalling. Nothing helps.

If it helps someone this is what the Bug report says when I open DIVX and it crashes:

Seems like the clue is in the end of that bug report but I really have NO idea.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME OUT ON THIS!

Hello "crazycat" ... I

Hello

"crazycat" ... 2282READ ! A lot of people saw this post ...

I did replace the " i " by " I " ,(the two capitals "I" errors) and the DivX Player work .

But , I am not sure the same thing can be done about "DivX Web Player" ? ? ?

- where are the errors in the "DivX Web Player ?
- where is the "DivX Web Player" ?

It is not a software you can find among "Application" ?!

Anyway, you did found the errors in the "Player" , many thanks to you...

best regard.

cercle.

Installer and Application Bug in case of Case sensitive FS

It seems that installers and packages have been tested on a Mac where file system is set to be NOT case sensitive. Using case sensitive File System there are, at least, two bugs (one in web player installer and one in player application as you reported)

In facts there is an error in the Web player installer that install the internet plug ins in the folder "Internet Plug-ins" instead of "Internet Plug-Ins" (capital "i" missed).

Asimilar problem prevent the player to run: looking in the above error report, you can see that the application search for ..."DivXPlugInModule", but that folder in the application package actually is called ""DivXPluginModule" (capital "i" missed again).

So, you must open the application package (right button: "Show Package content", follow the path and correct the folder name. Then the application will start.

At the moment I do not know if there are other similar error that can occur during application operation, but, at least, it starts.
