I recently just reformatted my computer and now when I'm playing movies some of the video is blocky or pixelated. It's only like that when I play them on Windows Media Player, but when I use the Divx player it plays perfectly. I really like using WMP since I'm familiar with the program so I don't really want to use a different program to watch movies on. Any suggestions?

Here is a pic of how the video is played on WMP.

the problem isn't WMP or the codec, its how it was encoded, I'm guessing that the person who encoded the original file to that format by using whatever "program" they used it is a really crappy program lolz :D

Yeah it's xvid. Before I

Yeah it's xvid.

Before I reformatted they worked perfectly fine. Maybe it's an issue with WMP since they do play perfectly fine on divx player. I just prefer WMP.

How is the video encoded?

How is the video encoded? (XviD / DivX / x264)
If it's x264 it could be it uses weighted P-frame prediction, which most decoders do not support.
