DivX Author - DVD Output

Hi - I'm new to using DivX Author and am wondering if anyone can provide an answer to this question please:

In DivX Author I load 3 files that have already been converted in DivX Converter to DivX movie files.

According to my pc the total size of these three files is 3, 175mb and yet when I try to output the files in DivX Author it reports an output size of 4,639 mb.

Can anyone suggest why this is please?

Yes, if you create a menu it would increase the size of the file. Please have it check. - Steven Delarge

DIVX authoring

Have combined a number of files into a single video using authoring but when I go to play the main video on the TV it does not show the various chapter and menu that I created.... am I missing a step somewhere when creating the DIVX video file

that´s why the divx author dosn´t make a direct stream copy. he always recode.

I recommend for putting movies to one file: virtual dub! jump to video-menu, select "direct stream copy", and choose output! But there are no menus available...

If you have the original (non-divx,-xvid) files such as *.VOB *.mpeg or stuff you can import it into the Author and he will manage that :-)

Did you create a menu? That would increase the file size.
