Hello,

When I try and skip ahead on divx 7 files (I made myself using the converter), I often run into this issue on big files/long movies. I can only advance to a point so far into the movie/file, and if I try and go further, either by selecting a point on the timebar or by fast forwarding at high speed, my player always locks up and I need to shut down the software.

One thing I did notice is that if I hold down the selection button for the time bar, and the frames of the movie run by very quickly, this only works upto ~1 1/2 hours into the film. No matter how far you go on the time bar, it freezes the clip at that position and from then on out, you can only play it in real time. I did add subtitles to these clips using divxmux, but I have not figured out if that has anything to do with this behavior.

thanks

Well, since no one has any ideas I'll post another on this topic

I do believe now that the subtitles added in divxmux are the issue. This is becuase I am able to play these long foreign movies through to the end but only with the subtitles turned off. Its so strange, becuase I know exactly where the movies stop playing with the subtitles, and I have the .SRT files saved in the same folder, so I can check the time where the movies fail. There is nothing special about these locations in the .SRT files that I can see. The files look good to me, but when I turn the subtitle feature off, I can play the movies to the end. As an asside, I ended up having to watch the films with the .SRT folders open on the side, and scrolled the file down in MS Notepad while watching the movie and the time indicator at the bottom of the DIVX player; a workaround that was not as grim as I thought it would be.
