Problem with Web Player
Hey guys,
For the last month I 've been having problems with the Web Player and ive struck a dead end.
I believe it was late January that simply Divx Sites stopped working for me, but didnt pay much attention.
I've tryed downgrading, unistalling and everything but nothing helps.
With the latest web player i get an error msg "The downloaded file could not be complete", while with the 1.5 web player I receive a file saying "The downloaded video file is not a Divx file".
This happens in all sites with Divx video. Even after I install and it automatically goes to Divx website, I can see the player but then it loads up the error msg.
Any ideas?
Please try this new version:

If you still have problems you will need to provide a URL that shows this problem for us to check against. If you don't want to do that publicly you can e-mail me at amayo (at) divxcorp [dotcom]. Please include a link to this discussion in any e-mail for context.
Hello again,
Well I did download this version and I still get the same problem. It doesnt even matter what site im on. Divx just doesnt play.
Even http://labs.divx.com/Webplayer , when I press play I get this msg.
"The file you are trying to play has failed to finish downloading and can no longer play"
I dont understand what can be stopping the file, or any file from being downloaded. Until January I could watch Divx perfectly and I can still stream any other files online.
I am behind a proxy, I dont know if this affects it. But I dont see how. Even sopcast works perfectly and so on.
Could it be that Webplayer has a specific port it sends and receives data? If so, I cant seem to be able to have any settings to change how web player connects or so on? I've been talking with other people that are behind the same proxy and their webplayer works fine.
I am lost
Any suggestions greatly welcomed
Hey guys,
Does anybody have this problem im facing?
I started looking more into this and here is whats going on.
Something on my computer is not letting the Divx Web player to work.
Firewall:
The Divx player itself is selected as an exception on the firewall yet I cant find an executable for the web player to put it on the firewall.
Still I cant see why the firewall wouldnt prompt me for blocking webplayer in the first place.
I tried using the Web player on Chrome Firefox and Internet Explorer. The result is the same.
"The file you are trying to play has failed to finish downloading and can no longer play"
So what happens is that in the temporary video file there are three files created
50c3b4a40814f3ee2bc49049dee48cba_0.ddat 0kb
50c3b4a40814f3ee2bc49049dee48cba_0.dinfo 1kb
50c3b4a40814f3ee2bc49049dee48cba_0.dmsk 1kb
With or without options of downloading files and cache enabled, i get the same msg.
Even when I right click the player and click "Check for updates" the updater wont do anything. If I cancel and click for check for updates again I get an error msg saying the updater had an unexpected error.
So I am at the same spot. Does anybody have any ideas?
What versions of DWP have you been using? DWP hasn't supported proxies in a very long time. Does DWP work if you turn your firewall off?
