Distorted audio

When trying to play MKV movies I get a distorted audio.I used G-Spot to check the audio and it plays great through there.What is the way to fix my problem.Any help appreciated.

Could you please tell us a little bit more about this file and your computer? What kind of file (avi or mkv) is it and what kind of audio codec is it using?
