Error message when opening avi files by realplayer or windows media player after installing divx 8

When i open avi file i recieve this message:

RealPlayer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

and the problem is with this:

AppName: realplay.exe AppVer: 6.0.12.1675 ModName: divxdec.ax
ModVer: 7.1.1.8 Offset: 00041885

Can you please do the following:

  • Start CPU-Z, click the "About" tab and click "Save Report (txt)".
  • Using the Run box on your Start menu launch "DXDiag" and click "Save All Information".
  • Using the Run box on your Start menu launch "MSInfo32" and choose "Export" from the File menu.

Send me all three output files to amayo (at) divxcorp [dotcom]. I can use this information to investigate the problem further.

Divx Player 8 encounters problems on start-up x264 files

Seems that lots of people are having this same issue and I am too since downloading DivxPlayer 8. For MKV/x264 files, player starts up and immediately stops working and closes down. Running this on Vista Home Premium.

Why is this such a widespread problem and why has it not been addressed???

Are you using the same consultants as Toyota?
