DivX Plus Not Working

Well, I received an update alert for my old DivX player and didn't think anything of it. I just updated and kept on doing whatever it was that I was doing. Then just last week I tried to watch a movie on it and the video was all distorted, but the sound was super clear. Is there anyway that I can fix it and make it go back to normal? I miss watching movies.

DivX Plus Web Player Beta

If you're talking about the DivX Plus Web Player Beta, where you're trying to play video through a web browser, there's information on the 0% buffer issue here:

divx not working in win 7

Not playing camera avi files?

I have been using VLC media player which is free. Some will play with Divx Plus but use VLC until I can get a new camera. It's really been baffling as to what they have done. I have a Samsung Player that plays Divx and it will not play those files either most of the time. I am looking for a Camera that is certified for it's video files will play the new DIVX. Getting a straight answer from them is hard to do. I even sent them one of the files and they never answered that it worked or did not work for them. It's mostly to do with the sound. On a XP machine the Windows media player plays the sound ok but no video. It all started with the Plus upgrade, are you listening there at the Labs?

DivX Plus player keeps crashing even after reinstall

5 November 2010 - Sydney, Australia

DivX Plus player keeps crashing even after reinstall.

Win XP SP3 Medion, Intel a few years old but otherwise working well. MS Security essentials, Spybot Search & Destroy and Spywareblaster kept up to date. Mainly use firefox, but this is just the Divx Plus Player I am talking about, not the web player.

Previous player worked well.

Have Googled for solutions, watched video about possible fixes, uninstalled and reinstalled using Control Panel > Add and remove applications (player only).

Very frustrating that what was such a good reliable player has gone to crap.

Tried downloading installer and running but it just says it's already installed and stops - no offer to repair or reinstall

same problem

i have the exact same problem and there is no easy contact at divx and their site doesnt even recognize my password anymore. i am so frustrated. i tried only downloading the conerter and player and added the codec, i understand is supposed to be the problem as i finally got a real answer from hp problems and solutions window popup. i will try uninstalling and then just getting the player but i cant find the old versions either. if anyone knows where to get them let me know, as the program did not keep old versions on the computer and it wont repair either, jusst says program components are installed. i am ready to give up on divx completely, when i downloaded the hd component it slowee my pc too

ugraded to plus from verson 7 and camera avi files do not play

My desktop was playing the avi files from my camera ok. I kept getting notices of updates which did. Now these and many other avi files from other cameras do not work. I get the video but sound is nothing but noise. Windows Media player plays the sound but not video. This all worked fine until the upgrade to PLus. I have a laptop with version 7 divx on it and all the old avi files worked fine as well as Windows Meda Player. So I took a chance and upgraded to Plus and as afraid screws everything up. Now I want to go back to version 7. DivxLabs has failed on fixing this. My Laptop has Vista and Desktop has XP. By the way Winamp will play the avi files fine. What do they know that the new Divx people don't.

audio in avi files from camera does not play properly

Another month has passed and the problem is not fixed. I just updated today and am having the same problem on my desktop (windows xp) that you had. Wish I had continued to ignore the update reminder....

I am going to try installing the AC3Filter and hope that is the problem. If it does not correct the problem I am going to install Winamp! Glad you mentioned it....

divx plus player not working

i installed divx player but not working

Divx Not Working

Am having a similar problem, which started with Divx 7. I downloaded divx plus in the hope that it would rectify problem but to no avail. Certain files won't play at all anymore (but work OK in VLC) and some files cause divx to stop working and throw up an error message. Also get divx player not responding. Am running Vista 32bit

New Divx Plus player not working right

My old divx player worked great. I never had a problem with it. Now I upgrade and it hardly ever works. It either won't play movies or the movie will come on with an anoying loud buzzing sound. I am using playitall player now but would like to use divx. How can I get the old version back? The old one played xvid fine and the new one won't play them at all. I have not changed any settings on my computer. All the problems are with avi files

File Information

Can you run MediaInfo on the file(s) that are giving you trouble and post here?

Also, does it do this for all files or just certain types (e.g. MKV, AVI, MP4...)?

Please tell us more about your PC, too (XP, Vista...)...

Mediainfo for non-camera-created avi file that plays normally

Here is the mediainfo output for a avi video I downloaded online (ie not created by my camera) . The audio in this file played normally (I only checked the first few seconds but have no reason to believe there is a problem with the audio later in the file)

divx plus failes to play avi file audio created by camera

I have Windows XP SP3

My problem description: http://labs.divx.com/node/15579#comment-36284

As far as I can tell the problem only occurs with video files created with my camera.

Most of my camera video files are evidence requested by landlady or documentation of crows for USGS beak deformity or the Crow.net Project research and I would rather not have to install and familiarize myself with a new player.

I would appreciate an email unless I auto receive them in response to replies.

Thank you for your assistance.
