Error Codes and Freezing
Hi All
So far I have got numerous error codes and had it stop working on me.
When it froze on me I would close it then try to restart it, I would click on the icon on the desktop then the start menu and even go directly into the 'Programs' menu in drive 'C' - Still nothing would happen.
It would freeze when, after watching it for some minutes and there would be no progress, I would stop it then start it up again. When it did this, I would do a reboot to be able to use it again but got tired of doing that so I started using the Windows Task Manager and shutting down the converter that way and then click on the icon again, which worked.
The numerous error codes are 0, 16, 22, 88, 91,114 and 121.
I have tried doing what it told me to do to report the errors by clicking on the underlined number but I cant get on the FTP site.
I did send the boffs at DivX an email but I am STILL waiting for a response.
I will soon be posting a complete list of the media info for each error code I encounter (hopefully, the boffs will be reading this message)

So what the blazes does Error Code 18 mean, you may well ask? I searched these forums and Google and came up dry! So then I thought, "maybe DivX Converter Plus is SO LAME that it can't handle an ampersand (&) character in the file name"... I removed the said ampersands from the input file names, and VOILA!!! It suddenly works.
Ergo, Error Code 18 means "DivX Converter Plus is SO LAME that it cannot parse file names containing the ampersand (&) character".
If DivX wrote the code for the browser you're using to read this message, it would probably crash the moment you tried to read this page.
So I implore you, please EXPECT better from your software and complain loudly!!!
Thank you for your attention.
Hello again,
I guess that the folks at DivX do not read these posts. Surely they have a list of error codes with their meaning available. I have excellent results converting to .mkv, would just like to know why some conversion failures occur.
Cheers!
Is there an official list of error code definitions for DivX Plus Converter V 8.xxx.
I have also these errors while converting some XVid files.
It's very strange because I've a lot of files to convert that have all the SAME compression mode.
Some of these video was converted gracefully, others give 88 error (and one 91). What's wrong?
I'm waiting a response from support team, hoping that a prompt reply will give to me.
Francy

Come on boff's@DivX, give us the list of error codes.
It will cut down the amount of posts on here from people asking what error code 18 means for example. If we have a list readily available, we don't need to waste time asking you.
I'm sure almost everyone on here would agree with me.
