Divx codec 6.9.2 and Dr. Divx 2.0.1 not working after reinstall

I had to reload Windows XP and downloaded the latest Divx codec as of APril 10th 2010. It is the the divx pro plus bundle. For some reason Dr. Divx says "Dr.Divx cannot use the Divx codec version currently installed. Please install the latest Divx codec." I tried downgrading to another codec that I had on a spare hard drive but I get the same message. Also purchased the Divx codec again thinking my old serial number may have been the problem. Anyone have any ideas? Everything was fine right before the crash but the codec version I was running was what was available from the divx website about a month ago. I love Dr. Divx and this is frustrating. Any ideas are appreciated.

Dr. DivX 2.0.0 was not

Dr. DivX 2.0.0 was not developed for use with DivX 6.9.2. I'm fairly certain 6.8.x was the last supported version that Dr. DivX 2.0.1b supported.

It would be wise not to use Dr. DivX 2.0.0 any more simply because it is such an old encoder based on very dated libraries.

Handbrake and Virtualdub are much better replacements.

Divx codec 6.9.2 and Dr. Divx 2.0.1 not working

Me too has the same problem. I have the licenced DivX Plus with codec version 6.9.2. Today I installed Dr. Divx. I am getting the same message "...... Please install the latest Divx codec"

The worst part is DivX converter plus throws out error code 3 when trying to convert a .vob file and unable to recognise a QT .mov file.

All in all a disaster. Any help will be appreciated.

Using Divx codec 6.9.2 for encoding

Hello,

My CPU config is i5 430/4GB RAM, Win 7 64 bit Home basic.

I have been using a very nice n clean Ripping software "Free DVD Ripper 2.25" which automatically recognises different encoders on your hard drive and also helps in configuring them.

I have many encoders including Pro Divx 6.9.2, Divx 4, Xvid etc on the hard drive and this free front end sofware can pick any of these for an output with .avi container.

You can unleash the multi thread encoding of Divx 6.9.2 and the program pretty well behaves as expected.

Trust this helps.

Kind regards,
Dwight
