DivX Minus probably more appropriate

Been a DivX user for some years now and always found it to be a great little program, upgraded to the DivX plus player yesterday and have sadly had that experience destroyed. The sequence of events unfolded thusly:
d/loaded the software bundle
installed bundle, went in first time, no worries so far
open DivX Plus and go to open a .part file downloaded through the webplayer
notice that you now only have the option of opening "video" files, which .part dont count as
Whilst contemplating this strange backwards step in compatibility (with your own software) I start to wonder where the .avi's I had stored in my temp/downloaded folder were.
windows search for several gig of no longer existing avi, disintegrated by the arrival of divx plus.
Swear.
Rename the .part files which havent been removed from the exact same folder (?!)
Mentally grumble a bit as you open the .avi file
Hit fullscreen
BSOD
Reboot
Open plus player, open avi, try fullscreen again
BSOD
Thank god for winamp.

Weeelll mates! I gots a new (used) pc and all I cud git fer it be a bloody "vista" (32) program init! Now! I'm stuck with even slower videos etc: , and ginny start a whole new world again ("again") all I wish is tae know as tae wot I can git tae bring at least the damned vista in gear fer watchin "Online" me favourite shows! Because here, in Germany, is thar a nae a good tv show that even has a wee bit of ENGLISH in em! GAW
D! Now I need somat in the form of English shows! ( ye all know the rest etc.) lool

fullscreen didn't BSOD me

but it absolutely doesn't work for me on Windows XP.

Video freezes, remains the same size, audio progresses.

any help?

Nothing but trubbles since I did that divx plus download "It even killed me harddrive and graffic card! SHeesh! " I am wishin tae go back to a older version of divx but am afraid something would be destroyed yet too! GAWD! Think on the older computer people! I hate the new divx "PASSIONATELY" if ONLY I could SUE you!!!!!
