Video Site Maps & SEO

We've been noticing that Google is indexing web player content and this looks very promising for web player publishers out there that want to get more search engine traffic. How many of you guys out there are implementing some video SEO? Do you have any tips?

So, does it work for DivX Web Player content or not?

Without diving into the creation of a new sitemap (looks like a ridiculous amount of extra work), the criteria doesn't seem entirely friendly to non-Flash content.

Comprehensive video indexing by Google is still gaining momentum and since they are constantly improving their search results it would be best practice to create a video sitemap that points out video content for Google's spiders to crawl. We have seen DivX Plus Web Player content show up in search results through our own ad-hoc video searches.

Below is a random Google search I did for "Nisargadatta Maharaj". I then clicked the video tab on the left. The 3rd result is a DivX Plus Web Player video and the thumbnail for the video has been auto-generated.
