Making DivX HiQ Default Player

6 replies [Last post]
For those of you that are loving DivX HiQ™ and want to make it your default player and have it play the highest quality stream available (e.g. always default to HD on YouTube), you can do this by following these steps:

1. When you're on the video site and you see the DivX HiQ bar, click its play button.

2. After the DivX Plus Web Player appears, you should see a gear on the right of the DivX HiQ bar; click the gear to expand the settings.

3. When the settings pane is revealed, you should see two checkboxes: one for making DivX HiQ to be "on" by default, and the other to have DivX HiQ load the highest quality video whenever possible.

4. After you have made your settings changes, click on the "X" on the upper left of the DivX HiQ bar.

5. When you reload the page, or visit any of the other supported sites, DivX HiQ should now be on by default.

Note, that when you have DivX HiQ and highest quality video settings on by default, it may take longer for each video to start playing, but it should be worth it :-)

In Firefox?

Your plugin must not have installed properly. Try uninstalling the web player and installing it again, this time, when you install it, make sure to exit out of your browser first. After you've installed it again, check your tools, then "Add-ons" then plugins and make sure you have DivX Web Player 2.1.0.529, and not some older version.
