DivX Author Problem/Suggestion

Okay so I tried out Divx Author.
I was pleased with everything except 1 thing.
The re-encoding.

The AVI that I imported was already fully divx compatible & I used a lot of special options to get my encode looking that good.

Also, my source is scratched up pretty bad now, so all I have is the AVI that I encoded. The AVI is about 550mb.

Why does it need to re-encode my file to add the menus for my DivX ultra player?

I don't even mind the audio being re-encoded, but the video just looks atrocious after the re-encode.

Is there a way I can stop it from re-encoding & force it to use the video stream directly from my file?

You have two options as I see it, but neither involve DivX Author.

Use that and create come nice menus. You'll have to use command prompt but that is really easy in comparison to option 2.

2) You can manually write the xml code, and create all the graphics. I would go with option 1.
