I'm disappointed with the the
I'm disappointed with the the DivX Plus Web Player. I saw it on the website while I was updating my codecs, got excited, and thought I'd give it a try, but it looks like I can't since it does not support the current version of Internet Explorer or Firefox. I think you all should make that clear to people in the installer and below the download link before they download it so they don't waste their time like I did.
Google Chrome
Hi,
I am using DivX Plus Web Player 2.1 Beta 4 with Google Chrome v10 (Mac OS X 10.6.6) and I cannot play videos on YouTube through this extension. Everytime I open a YouTube video I get the message that I have no Internet connection, or a 403 error. It works flawlessly on Firefox, and even trying it on a Guest account on this same machine (in Chrome) also worked great. Tried reinstalling everything to no luck.
Can you guys help me figure out what's happening?
Thanks!
Video Annotations?
DivX HiQ doesn't support annotations, links within the video. If you toggle DivX HiQ on YT, there is no way to see them.
Do you plan to add it or can it be supported? If not, can you add an option to toggle Flash if the video has annotations in it and DivX HiQ is selected as the default player?
Does not work
The new beta does not work still. It cant stream video
Thanks so much! Labs.divx.com
Thanks so much! I was able to download version 8.1.1 which is the old non-beta web player without hiq and all the other junk added to the beta versions. Although it's slower than before, at least it plays and doesn't crash.
now i can use it on my labtop thanks
thanks DivX guys, i can now, once more view divx video clips.
have you thought about adding support for commercials so that Google don't really have an argument for not allowing the player, it could probably also help some of the sites with money problems, so i think it would be a smart feature all together
thought the amount should be limited so that it doesn't hurt the video experience
oh and if your feeling up for it a seek preview function, like the ones some flash player videos have gotten, where a small image appears of the point you are pointing at on the seeking bar
thanks guy, love your work
now
now we gotta get down to what youtube is doing to us where we cant use the HIQ
IE9 RC Compatibility
Is it compatible with IE9 RC? It's enabled in extensions but doesn't work. It works on the DivX site but on YT, Vimeo nor Dailymotion.
It supports IE8 right now
Not yet, right now it supports IE8, but when IE9 is final release status, we will add support around the same time.
Plugin Load Time and 480p Res.
IE9 RC recommends disabling some plugins that slows down page loading more than 0.20 seconds (default). DivX Web Player occasionaly exceeds this value, sometimes up to 1 sec even the page doesn't contain any embedded video.
Also DivX HiQ doesn't have a 480p setting. Will it be in the final release?
Remind me again as to why
Remind me again as to why you're releasing the "beta" on the main site where people expect official releases?
good question
good question
Although labs is a great place to capture rich and detailed feedback via forum posts and messages, we would like a clearer picture on performance and usage on large scale. One way to achieve this is to expand the audience using HiQ. The stability and performance has improved significantly for main site distribution, so it's safe. There are just few things we want to tweak before we remove the "Beta" title. Users are able to opt-out of the Beta from both installers if they don't want to use it.
still stuck buffering
This hasn't fixed anything. I am still stuck at buffering 0%.
What's the new fix now?
Right Click, Go to
Right Click,
Go to Preferences, select Clear Cache Now.
That should clear everything up.
fixing divx player issues
Just go back to version divx7 here is the link, http://www.oldapps.com/divx_player.php?old_divx=32 it was hard to find a good one but this one works fine. On the left there are diffrent versions make sure you use ver 7.2.0.19 its the only one that worked for me and also when you go to play a movie it will ask you to upgrade to latest version just always decline and cancel. your welcome in advance lol.
