srt files not supported?? very disappointing
i dont have the option to add any subtitles at all? why? anyone knows.. i've been using dr divx 2.0.0, and adding an avi files, after i added my avi video, the option that is able to be edited is only for audio track, so how do i add my subtitles of .srt? or is Dr Divx doesnt support it?? and y? i need to convert those video into divx with ability to switch on or off my subs in srt( means after that it become xsub, isnt it??)..coz my old dvd player only support subtitles for xsub format from .divx container
Mailing list does not exist
There is no "drdivx-user" mailing list at Sourceforge.
Under the "Got Questions?" heading at the main Dr. DivX page above, the "ask on the user mailing list" is a real dead end.
It is only after jumping through hoops to create a Sourceforge userid that one finally discovers there is no "drdivx-user" mailing list and no "drdivx-user" archive to peruse.
I'm just looking for an answer to the application drdivx2.exe, version 2.0.0.14, faulting module drffmpeg.dll, version 2.0.0.14 crash (sorry --- needs to close error) reported several times in this comments section. Or a comprehensive guide to cli.exe.
Resize failure
The "custom" resize has not worked for several versions.
Now in beta 7 I can't resize from 4:3 to 16:9. You can select the options for resizing, but the resulting re-encoded file has the same aspect ratio as the original. Very frustrating.
Of course, resizing works if I use VirtualDubMod, but the encoding speed in VirtualDubMod is about half that of Dr.Divx (for reasons unknown to me).
Are these resizing options going to be fixed anytime soon?
hope
I hope it will be fixed soon.

Awsesome, and weird
Awsesome, and weird simultaneously. This sounds like it is officially being built by the same guys working for DivX, or did they just release the original source code from the first version? They say that not upgrading the good Doctor was a dumb mistake, so why not just officially build a new Dr and then charge people for it? I'm really confused, but happy to see that 2.0 is coming! I still use the good Doctor for my rips - it's easy and a clean interface, and perfect results everytime!
I hope they add the following to 2.0:
-Multiple Audio Tracks
-Subtitle Encoding
-Menu Integration/Creation (supported by DivX 6!)
-Chapter encoding
-Of course, support for the newest DivX codec!
Dr.DivX 2.0.0 FINAL (for 6.8) hangs up and gives an error
I'm always using Dr. Divx to get films in DivX format. Since I've downloaded and used the final version (for DivX 6.8) I've got the same frustrating error on a grey screen which error file says:

Surprisingly, the previous version doesn't hang up, but I'd like to work with the last one to use the DivX 6.8 Pro codec I've purchased.
Any help is welcome. Thanks in advance,

drdivx2.exe error
I had the same exact message come up after I reinstalled windows. Tried Divx Converter and got a message saying an ac3 filter had to be installed. Installed ac3filter and Dr. Divx began working correctly.
Beta 4 is installed but each startup told beta 4 available
I have upgraded thru the four Betas usually with some problem but ones I could get past. Now I have been using beta 4 for months yet each time I start it I am reminded there is a newer version and then it list the very version I am using!!! I turned off the warning the last months. Now I see a link for Dr. Divx OSS FINAL, but the link doesnt work and all my searches for a final have failed. But then, I didnt think Open Source versions ever had a final. Anyone knows what gives???
Thanks

Whats going on? What IS the newest version?!!?
I have downloaded this on two machines, and both times it instantly says it isnt the newest version when I run it.
And yet, going to sourceforge and downloading the newest version gives the same result!
In the software about box it says I have beta-4, and yet I cant find a newer one (12 Jun 2007). What gives?
Also, finaly, can I convert flash video? :p

Dr DivX 2.0.0 and VISTA
I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem with the current version of Dr. DivX 2.0.0
However, upon installation and performing an encoding operation (VISTA ONLY) the encoded video can be played, but cannot be accessed when selecting, "LOCATE" after encoding. I am assuming (and only assuming) that this issue is due to the fact, that the default folder for "Output Directory" cannot be accessed by Dr. DivX as it is (by default) located in a protected systems file or folder folder (Programs directory) Since compatible software MUST have limited access to the kolnel (Damned... I always mis-spell that), The base system can install and output into the directory located in the Programs directory, but has insufficient System Rights to ACCESS the output directory after the fact. IF this is not an issue that is occurring for anyone else, sorry for the lengthy post. However, if there are more than 1 problem with this, (Other than myself) Please, PLEASE let me know... as I like to track the number of occurrences of a set problem. For those receiving the same problem.
Work-around: Change the default Directory FROM the protected system file (choose "Preferences" from Dr. DivX 2.0.0) go to the "General" tab, and change the setting of Output from , "Input Directory" and select a "Custom Location" folder that is not protected, such as your PREVIOUS output directory from earlier versions of Dr. DivX, (i.e. in your profile, videos and into a folder labeled "Dr DivX" something like that that YOU have privileges to.) also, make sure that you are not running as the "Limited Account User" but as an Administrator.
Please let me know if anyone else is having this issue. I would REALLY REALLY like to know.

RE: Dr DivX 2.0.0 and VISTA
the fact that this message is so long tells me Dr. divx isn't comleetly vista ready yet and the program crashes I've delt with tell me its not even half ready. all the hassel that vista users half to go threw make it not worth it for a beda to be realeesed people should be more Patient so programers don't haft to worry so much about dead lines and if that were to actualy hapen they would be able to make things work
hello Dr Divx
I am not sure what this is so lets see what happens
