I have the Player installed on an XP-Pro computer. Regardless of whether I open the Player or click on Update from the Start menu it runs without confirming whether or not there are updates. Why does this happen? So far, I used the Update Installer and Stand Alone Update without success. Does my Player need some kind of repair?

Update Runs Continuously Without Connecting
In fixing some of the drivers in my XP-Pro, the problem is fixed in DivX. Thanks to all who tried to figure this out. Do you have a job for me?
