Do you need the Dr.?

Dr. DivX Mug

If so, the doctor needs you!
The Dr. DivX development team is committed to providing a free solution to enable easy creation of high-quality video content.

The roadmap envisioned for the doctor can be fulfilled at an accelerated pace if you, the community developers, contribute your skills and time.

Here are some of the upcoming features that we have planned for Dr. DivX:

  • Batch encoding support to encode to multiple target profiles (for e.g. Home Theater and Mobile)
  • XviD support
  • Improved support for AVC content
  • Subtitles: Improved support for community formats, preview and muxing
  • Multiple video segment mark-in, mark-out and cut
  • UI redesign for better workflow
  • Chapter points
  • Metadata
  • External audio file muxing

Are you a developer who is interested in contributing to one of these features? If so, please volunteer to help!

I think

I too don't see this happening anytime soon either. I would rather see the Dr. functioning smoothly first before adding any new features regardless - and even that seems like a major challenge without funding, let alone a whole set of complex video capture capabilities. Don't count on it.

Then again, you can try VirtualDub, which does do DivX and does have AVI capture features. But I have never tried it so I wouldn't have a clue if it's any good at capturing.

Keep in mind that (at least for the longest time) video capturing is/was a resource-intensive and complicated process. I seriously wouldn't count on an app focussed on encoding to be any good at such a demanding feature. I do recommend shopping around for one if you want quality.

And the all-in-one quality solution is still rare in consumer video applications. I personally use many different solutions to do different things anyway such as capturing, importing, editing, de-interlacing, encoding and any authoring or burning.

What is this?

I have ABC(Another BitTorrent Client) and I would like to upload videos from ABC to DivX Stage6 and I understand how to download the videos, but I don't understand how to upload them onto Stage6. I have tried and I am not sure if I transferring the correct file or what. I would appreciate if some one would tell me how to save the downloaded file to a folder from the ABC program, upload it to Stage6, and if I need to use Dr. DivX.

Thanx a lot ^_^,
Tiffany

Define the problem

What is the exact problem with Stage 6? Have you converted your file to DivX format?

Have you uploaded the file but can not see it on the site? If so then just wait... it can take up to 3 days for a file to be visible.
